I'm not quite sure if this is the right place for my question, but I just couldn't find a better thread for this request. I (Dutchy) want to purchase a Breitling, but don't want to spend more then €3k on a first watch. I want to buy it new/mint and it must be automatic. What do you guys think I can choose from, if any? :geek:

So many variables involved eg what size are you looking for? Do you want a chrono? etc etc.

For what it's worth if I was going to spend 3K on a new Breitling I'd go for the SO44 or try to get discount on an Avenger Seawolf.

Good luck with your choice.

Yes, really like that Avenger Seawolf. That's really the type of watch I'm looking for. Not a fan of the SO44, but thank you so much for thinking with me.

I have no particular size in mind. Just want a nice looking watch that I can go with for years.

I'd try to get hold of a Steelfish. Not many out there, but worth a try.

I should have said, if it's your first Breitling it's worth trying to have a look at your intended watch with a rubber and leather strap as well as a standard bracelet. IMHO some watches work with all three, some don't.

By changing the bracelet / strap it can give your watch a totally different look. It's a lot cheaper than buying a new watch but admittedly not as much fun.

I would go with the superocean chrono. Sporty and can easy be dressed up. Has the rugged look of a utility watch but with the polished finish can be worn with a suit.
