I bought one of those polishing cloths, but on my watch there is a little spacing where the dial and braclet meet and I noticed that there is little dust particles accumulating in this area. But, I am a watch novice and I don't know how to detach the braclet from the case. Is there a special tool that is needed?

You can use a Bergeon Spring bar tool, or a small flathead screwdriver will work too. You just put the springbars away from the lugs on the back of the bracelet.

However, to clean that gap a toothbrush will work just fine.. you dont need to remove the bracelet for that.
