Bought this off ebay for what I felt was a decent price. Thinking a nice cape cod polish will get this little ladies polish back. What is watch like this worth after is cleaned and polished up? I think that could use more than a cape cod, but I've seen a lot worse. If there's no documented service history I would send it to Breitling for a full service and get it back looking like new and mechanically sound for another 5 - 7 years. |

Pricing varies by country - if you go to the Breitling website and choose your location under maintenance centres there is a PDF for pricing. Quartz non chrono will be about $400 - $450 or so I believe. We provide guidance on pricing in the FAQs - #2 here - http://www.breitlingsource.com/articles_faq.shtml#8, but it's a little harsh factoring servicing costs into it, that's just part of the 'running costs' of owning the watch. If you were looking to flip the watch immediately then you won't get your money back on servicing, but to own and wear it's a necessary evil. It's real. |

Ya, im not really interested in flipping the watch. Its really just a matter of buying it for 700.00 servicing it for 400.00 when I could possibly go out and and purchase a pristine colt sq for 1000.00 previously serviced. You know what I mean? |

You might be able to find a local reputable watchmaker to overhaul it. It would probably cost about half of what Breitling charges. Id recommend Breitling, but it just might not make financial sense to spend that much. |

I disagree with this logic. Unless someone had it serviced to sell it, in which case they'll be in your same position (i.e., investment) you are, chances are you would have difficulty finding a just-serviced colt where someone laid out the same amount you would have to for service but be selling for much less money than you'd need to invest total to have a great watch. If you service it and keep it, and it maintains value, you could enjoy it or a couple years and likely recoup most of your investment for the next Breitling on your list ![]() |
