Post subject:  Qusetions about sending my So to Busa for overhaul

Hello all,

I just have a couple of quick questions regarding what steps I should take on sending my watch to BUSA.

1.How should I package the watch? Should I use the little leather box it came in and if I do will they return it?
2. What information do I send with it? Do I send the warranty book or just a copy?
3. Can I call BUSA for some kind of contact after it arrives so I can check on the watch?
4. Should I contact BUSA before I send the watch and let them know it is coming?

Any help would be much appreciated!

I have sent many watches to BUSA directly over the last dozen years. I always bubble wrap the watch, inside and outside of the bracelet as well...I box it up w/ the warranty card and a letter explaining the problem and off it goes via usps overnight insured at full value. You can track the shipment at the usps website but they update it slowly. I include an email address and usually get a .pdf from BUSA within a few days detailing the repair estimate. I know that some forum members have had difficulties with BUSA over watches being damaged and advise taking photos of the watch prior to sending. I have never had this issue but it certainly could not hurt to do that. Do not send them your box set or case; bubble wrap is sufficient...HTH

:yeahthat I sent one in this spring just as 'termite' suggests: wrap watch up in bubble wrap, do not use original Breitling boxes, but do send warranty booklet. I had sent an e-mail to BUSA customer service prior and they e-mailed me back instructions and address to send watch to. Everything worked out well in my case (did take about 8 weeks for service).

Of course you can always go to your local AD and just let them figure it out. Theyll probably charge you for the shipping, but likely no more than you would have paid on your own.
