Did anyone notice that one the guys working on the watches doesn't wear a Breitling? One has to ask the question, why isn't he wearing one?

Do you think most Mercedes mechanics should drive them personally as well?

There is a big difference between a Mercedes and Breitling. Sorry!

What is the big difference between Mercedes and Breitling, beside the obvious cars / watches? To me it's a pretty decent comparison. You have two middle luxury brands built on many years of historical success. There are nicer / more expensive brands and lesser valued not as nice brands in both fields. You clearly missed the point. Just because you work on something, it does not mean you should / have to own one as well... Maybe in your mind the United crew men at O'hare International should own planes... it's just not realistic for everyone to have a nice luxury like an expensive watch, even if you are part of the company...

Personally I believe it it worth the money. Your watch will be like new inside and out. Plus it will have a Breitling warranty.

+1

And yes, every service is noted in the service booklet which remains in your custody.

Like most else, we rarely hear about the vast majority of excellent service encounters. It's not news or "thread-worthy."

There are 10,000 members on this site, not all active or around, but 10,000 "active accounts." Just guessing, I've heard maybe 10 or 12 complaints ranging from "it took too long" to a very few considerable blunders to even fewer repeated blunders.

Spend some time on a Rolex forum and you will see some similar griping, in each indivudual case justified, but not suggestive of a gaping service issue.

It isn't fair IMO to say Breitling service is poor. We expect great service and thus don't make a splash about it when we get it (as we shouldn't). Only when we don't.

To answer your question, you will get back essentially a new watch, inside out.

Statistics can say anything. My one Zenith has had two warranty issues, my many Breitlings have had none. Does that make Zenith infinitely worse than Breitling - of course not.

We have heard no complaints here (that I recall) about Breitling service in Asia or South America, does that mean that they have none - again of course not.

As Sharkman says we tend to hear about the situations that are different from what we expect but they are the exception. Can BUSA and some other Breitling distributors improve their customer service - absolutely, but there are no inherent problems with servicing.

In my experience Breitling service is well worth the money and as has been stated it is documented and involves a comprehensive mechanical overhaul. With a full service (rather than a basic service) you also get the case refinishing.

Speaking of that. What does it cost for a full service on a SA at busa?

Pricing is on the Breitling website for each region. US is here - http://www.breitling.com/multimedia/pdf ... v-1219.pdf

Would the watch ever be serviced without it being noted in the warranty book?

Just recently got my watch serviced (under warranty). When I went to pick it up at the AD the book was not stamped and it had the same exact problem still. There was a protective clear sticker on the case back that said service center.

Hi i can't say abaut the service in other countries than Sweden
I say they are the best in pleasing the customer to max

Look at the latest watches as they come from service (like new again)
They had a hard life before as daily watch
