Ever since I bought my first Breitling strap, I was disappointed a complimentary stitching option wasn’t available. Lingman has struck again. After a private pointer or two (still holding out on the shoe polish bit), I finally have a black croco I prefer to the contrast stichting. I know this entire notion strikes horror into the hearts and minds of many. Oh well............................

THE HORROR!!!!! It looks great! I'm not sure if I would have to the balls to attempt that. Did any of the dye / whatever you used get on the strap? Is it visibly or emotionally harmed?

No, it was so simple i'm almost ashamed to tell you how it is done. I'll keep the mystique going a bit longer.

A little too subtle for me, but looks good - suits an older gentleman lawyer :poke:

We have a winner. I had bought 3 different dyes and then decided to PM Lingman. Sharpie. Doh!

Your timing is impeccable--that's exactly what I want to do with a croc for my new Headwind. This setup with my old Panerai 48 made a great dress watch. I have to admit, though, that with the white subdials the contrast stitching pops. Now, do you have a 20mm croc to experiment with? I bet your Cockpit would look great with this setup.

I have a couple old regular size crocs with massive extra holes - crater size really - before I learned of short straps. I'll give ya one. They are unusable and perfect for experimenting. Brown or black??

Tremendous, thanks. I should go black to work on the sharpie part, I suppose. I still need to visualize what brown would look like on the watch. By the way, Bob says hello, and thanks for the referral. My Bergeon is on the way, and I need to check out his deployments as well.

Wow, a sharpie huh? It looks really good though. I might give that a shot, I think the black croco would look really good on the BB with black stitching instead of white.

Did you stain the strap right next to the stitching?

Not that I can see. I did tape it off with masking tape, but not sure I needed to. I'd be a bit leery with a brown strap. Would probably have a strap maker restitch it if I ever choose to do that.
