Well, I bought this sweet E about a month ago with dead batteries in both watch head and UTC, sent it straight to BUSA for a service, and oh my lucky stars, she came home today. What a happy and sad day (sad for the loss of writst time for my other pieces).

So, if you don't mind me asking how much did the service and battery replacement run you? I'm curious as I'm sure I'll have to do the same in a couple of years ;)

Well, the cost of the UTC was just a basic service and batt replacement, it was 65 USD, the E itself was FREE!! Yes, the first service of an E, out of warranty, first owner or not, doesn't matter, the first service of an E is Free. Normally I believe it's close to 500 USD though, so hope that helps. I actually picked this up knowing it needed a service and also that it hadn't had one yet. I'm not sure the previous owner new the service would be free, oh well, good news for me.
