hello everyone, pulled the trigger and picked up the Blackbird at an AD in New York State. was able to get 15% off the old list price whithout much effort which saved me over 1k compared to back home in Canada with a lot of haggling. love the watch, and special thanks to Oester for the advice. ![]() not the greatest pic, but here it is! one little detail i noticed is the 2nd digit of the big date complication is always slightly lower than the first digit. i've noticed this in other people's pics too. is this normal? i was also midly disappointed that the silver paint on the bakelike box is not consistant which i've also noticed in other people's pics. |

The paint on the box will wear off in time, but its not really a big deal. I think you will get over it quickly. My first Breitling I was very citical of these things and they stopped bothering me after i bought my 4th or 5th one ![]() The Date is a bit higher but that's just the way the mechanism is designed.. I believe the Glashutte Original Panodate is one of the only big date mechanisms that has a perfectly level big date. |

Great choice, it really is a stunning watch. I had my heart set on a Chronomat Evo with a graphite dial as my next purchase, but I tried on a Blackbird at an AD last weekend and am now leaning toward that. |

I really like the blackbird as well--and I like the look of the bracelet more than the Pilot bracelet. |
