Post subject:  SA Automatic Stops at night????

Today was the third morning that I went to put on my SA automatic and noticed that it had stopped in the middle of the night. I wear the watch all day so I don't understand why it would stop in the middle of the night. The watch is only a little over a year old, is it really ready to be serviced? I have never had any of my Rolex watches do this. WTF is going on????

Has this ever happened to anyone else? If so, what did you have to do to fix it?

Thanks

it really depends how active a life you lead. I´m right handed and have a desk job, but thankfully talk with my hands, so my watch gets fully wound.

power reserve varies from movement to movement, but if you are rather inactive with your left hand and do not put the watch on a winder overnight it might run down over time.

you should not need a service after a year, try to fully wind the watch (approx. 40 times) manually and maybe leave it inactive for some time to see if it reaches the approximate 40 hours it should run ?

:yeahthat

I sounds simply like a lack of power reserve. If you are winding the watch and it's still stopping overnight then there may be some lubrication issues. Remember that just beause you bought the watch just over a year ago doesn't mean that it's only a year old. Granted SAs don't tend to sit around for extended periods at the AD, but it's possible.

its solar powered, if its in the dark too long, it will stop till the lights come on again

I'm assuming that it was fully wound before wearing? If so then something is preventing the running train from operating smoothly and it will need service attention.

I'll take it to Toronto location
But do breitling replace watch if it is that bad .
Or just they service

They will service it - it will be a simple fix and certainly not grounds for replacement.

hello Roffensian.
do u recommend to fully wind the watch at every wear. for example i wear the watch at 8 am ( after 12-13 hours of laid in my drawer, not on a winder ) and was running and wear it all day on semi active life style and again put it in the drawer by 5 pm... next day again if i found the watch running good ---- do i need to wind it or just wear it as it is .. so normally do we have to wind the watch every time we wear after 10- 13 hours laying in still position. or just keep on wearing it until it stops.. or u recommend a winder.
what do u say

You aren't going to hurt it by winding it, and if it is laying for 13 hours and you are only semi-active it's possible that it's not maintaining a full wind from wearing. First thing to do to see if there is a problem is to fully wind it and then leave it completely and see how long it runs for, then repeat wearing it normally and see how long it lasts.
