See attached photo...of what appears to be a painting outside of Brietling Canada's location in Toronto Canada. All they know is that this was sent to them from Switzerland when the office was opened. No one knows what the source is, so I'm hoping someone has seen this one before and can point me in the right direction in trying to locate copies and/or prints of teh attached. Any leads would be appreciated...many thanks...Ed Z |

I was just going to say that was hanging onth ebuilding on Hayden Street, then realised that's where you saw it. It might be worth contacting Breitling in Switzerland directly to see if they can help - they have a lot of aviation related images but should be able to provide you details. Wish I had a better image but my first guess would the Hawker Sea Fury. Markings look to be correct and this was the last single engine piston driven fighter from WWII. Used by Canada so the marking should be correct and authentic. All hail the return of the Royal Canadian Navy and Royal Canadian Air Force! To hell with Paul Hellyer!

Of the total 615 built by Hawker, 53 were delivered to the RCN (all belonged to Air Squadron 871 and attached to HMCS Magnificent) and 31 to the RAN. Currently there are about 70 surviving, with more than 40 being airworthy and seen frequently at airshows and at the Reno Air Races. The one at the foreground in RCN colors #117 is named "Bad Attitude", registration N42SF, and flew at the Reno Air Races. The one in the middle is painted in the colors of the RAN. Not sure what the third is though. |

they have AWESOME pics in the headquarters in gretchen, but the best ones are at la cheax de fonds in the b01 facility. we werent allowed to take pictures, but trust me, its awesome |

Especially that F-14 being prepared for take-off at the reception in Grenchen. |

Just to add to Tomcat's summary. The second Sea Fury is NX254SF/21.  The third is NX62143/99 "Riff Raff".  My guess is the photo was taken at Reno in 2007. |

Thanks for that Sharkie. Didn't have the time to do more. And it does look like Reno. Oh, and I was mistaken: then second one is, obviously, at the colors of RCN as well. |

Many thanks for the info & comments...I was losing hope I would be able to track down the source of this "painting". I've contacted Brietling Customer Relations and am now waiting for the next step of my search to unfold. Well as long as we're talking about the Hawker Sea Fury I have to put up a pic of my neighbor's plane. He lives just around the lake from us and is hangared at the same airport. It's always obvious when he pulls N71GB out for a flight because it sounds SO different than any of his other planes. I guess 3000 HP will. Here he is washing the bugs off after an afternoon flight in Minnesota.  I've never flown it but have sat in it and I can tell you it's a whole lotta airplane!  You sit almost 8 feet off the ground. I second Tomcat's thanks for the pic Acro. I think your friend should restore the bird to it's original markings for the Iraqi Air Force. That would rustle a few feathers at Reno!

He has the Sea Fury you see here, a T6 SNJ that is restored to like new (and I mean ridiculously restored to like new), a 4 year old Mooney that he uses for everyday travel and a Kitfox that he built himself. The Kitfox is a mismatch with all the performance in the other birds but it holds a special place in his heart because he built it. Despite all that, he's a very grounded guy. He cleans and fuels his own planes and isn't the kind of guy that just shows up and expects everything done for him. Everyone has to have a hobby right?
