I went to one of My Jewelers Saturday. They are a LING AD and I got my Bentley there 4 years ago. I only went to get a piece of Onyx replaced in a ring and ended up buying a new Super Avenger. I had 2 stolen back in 2009 so I really needed one. They were the Arabic numeral versions with the silver sub dials, one had the blue dial and the other black. This time I picked up the black dial with the baton markers. Roff and Driver 8 probably know about this but when I turn it back and forth in some lighting situations half of the dial changes to a grayish color which is pretty cool, I wasn't aware these new ones did that. I forgot how satisfying these are I'm glad I got one again but I paid a little more than I would have liked. They only discounted it 6% so with tax I paid $5470 US Dollars.

Roff,

Yeah it's WAY up. Like I said I wasn't even going to buy one and I had planned on doing it in the Fall but once they took it out of the case my knees went weak and I just pulled out my wallet. It's still the most satisfying LING and a MUST have for true Ling Men. Have you seen how these sub dials on these new ones change color slightly when you turn them in some lights ? I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed that.

Yeah,

Driver 8, I haven't allowed those types in my home since and never will again. But when I discussed it with a friend after it happened and we looked back at how many times I did the same thing without incident it was pretty cheap based on the cost per time. The women of questionable character (there were 2 of them) made off with 2 SA's and a Nav World. One SA had a diamond bezel so the cost of the 3 LINGS was about $16700. We figured that over 7 years I did that type of thing about 250 times so it came to about $66.80 per evening. I haven't done it since and now I have the NEW SA which I like better, I got a Bucherer Patravi Traveltech, I still have my Bentley and learned a good lesson. It was a good thing I was wearing the Bentley that evening because that one is the most expensive of the bunch. Had this not happened I may have continued on with this risky behavior every so often after a few too many beverages and much more adverse eventualities could have occurred. The bottom line is that it was an expensive lesson that stopped me from continuing with any more of the same and I have now replaced 2 of the missing watches with better ones for my tastes with my sites set on a much better watch for the next one. However, I wouldn't recommend that anyone try this for themselves. And it's good to be back and enjoying the new SA.

dta20collect,

I did some hunting and hired help to no avail, so it was time to move on and not repeat the mistake

I almost did the same thing (the SA, not the woman of ill repute). Took my daughter into the jewellers to get something for her 18th and almost walked out with a white sticks SA. My daughter practically dragged me out of the shop when she saw my credit card coming out of my pocket.

She's not coming when I go to buy my navi world. Or perhaps I should take her so she can make sure I don't leave the AD up to my eyes in hock and laden down with assorted lings lol.
