Hi

I currently have a Navitimer and have had it about 1 year now.
I wear it everyday and have noticed the leather strap (with tang buckle) is getting slowly worn where it catches on my desk!
So i popped into my local dealer and picked up the latest catalog and price guide.
I ve noticed that in the price guide (UK) there is a "stingray" strap?
I cannot find any offcial Breitling pictures of this can anyone help me out?
Even better if anyone has any with it on a Navitimer please?
Any reviews on wear and comfort would be great too??
If not i ll be looking at getting a croc strap with deployment

thanks

First I've heard of it.

There used to be some more exotic straps in the past, but never shagreen / stingray that I recall. For the last several years it's only been croc and calf as leather options.

As Roff said never seen one of those.
If you want exotic then check out ABP straps they are Parisian based and they do some pretty awesome straps that you customise [ length, material etc ] they have a huge range and quality is top notch from what I have read and seen online. If you go to their website you can have a look, they are also very well priced.

Hi Roff, G W-R

I got the price guide from Goldsmiths and its the official Brietling RRP.
on the list of straps they do it states "stingray" i from what i can remember it was around £120 for just the strap no tang or deployment.
I ll take a photo and attach it when i get home.
I like the sound of a "exotic strap" however i dont want a after market strap.
Gunna stick to a genuine Breitling one but thanks G W-R

:huh Very confusing, firstly because as others have said, Breitling have never made a stingray strap in the past, and secondly I can't imagine for a second that an OEM Breitling stingray strap would only cost £120!

Historically, lizard only came in the smaller widths for womens watches - 16mm or so. The only other leather Breitling have ever used (apart from calf, croco and lizard) is sharkskin, but they discontinued those a few years ago. Very odd.

We need pics!

Not a chance that you would get stingray for GBP120 - way too cheap.

As Driver8 says, lizards have been available for the ladies in the past.

Found this link: http://www.authenticwatches.com/breitli ... strap.html.

But, not being familiar with this site, not sure if it's dependable. Maybe Sharkman or Roff can give us their lights. Price is $ 475 for strap only. No tang or deployment.

Yeah authenticwatches is well known for listing straps at higher than list price.

Yup.

I gave them a detailed spec. (annotated PDF) and they custom made an ostrich utc deployant that is as good if not better to wear (and I am very fussy about comfort.)
