Not knowing a lot about Breitlings- could you give me an idea of what I could expect to pay for this watch and if you think it is difficult to come by?

Sarah

its tough to say sarah. i wish that i could remember the msrp on it. there are some add ons with this piece too. for example the diamond bezel and diamond hour markers on the dial. let me see what i can dig up.

the price guide on here says 5920 but that was for the mother of pearl with diamond dial. and this one is diamond bezel with diamond markers so the pricing will be a bit different. but this give you a rough idea. keep in mind the movement on this piece is quartz and not automatic. not sure if that makes a difference to you.

if you do like this piece you might also like the new galactic 31 or 36 for ladies. it basically replaced this line and the ladies cockpit.

edit - link to price guide http://www.breitlingsource.com/pricelis ... ection=ASC just hit the control key on your keybaord and press the letter f. then type in starliner so you dont have to scroll down the page.

OF COURSE! The diamond bezel and diamond hour markers are what make this watch the most beautiful watch I've ever seen.

I'm sure that means it's rare and if I want it I will be forced to get it from the local AD... which by the way I don't get the warm and fuzzies from thanks to advice given on this forum.

Sinking feeling in stomach setting in...

there are 2 VERY trusted AD's on the site look for member FEAR and jnelson. they will be able to help you out.

it is a stunner and if you do end up tracking one down (might be hard cuz its discontinued) i know you will love it. if you like this piece you might also like a Rolex ladies Date just 31mm. it is a timeless classic that you can wear till your 100 or pass to your kids.

If you go on eBay and search completed listings you will see a blue dial starliner with the diamonds. This watch was listed buy it now $4,625. If you keep an eye out you can find one on the used market.

That is if you ever decide to trust the used market again...

Please excuse my lack of knowledge...

Can the dial be changed? Is this an easy process?

What I'm getting at is that I see quite a few of the same watch available in blue/pink/MOP but none in black. I would purchase another color if need be and replace... assuming that is even possible.

the dial can be changed. but to be honest its not worth it. you would need to send it back to breitling to ensure they will cover future work. once the watch is touched by a watch maker outside of breitling they tend to ding you because they will find problems with it.

as for the dial change you can run a search on here and see the threads of others that have done it. the cost is over 1000 dollars i believe. if it were me i would just pick a color that i love and stick with it.

if you can find one in mother of pearl i can almost guarantee that you will love it.

I am 99% set on black. I have a diamond bezel MOP Seiko already. The diamonds pop off of the black so brilliantly... yeah I might as well say I'm 100% set on black.

Sadly with all of the searching I've done it does not appear to be a popular women's color. Pansy pink and easter blue... That just doesn't fit in with my job of selling guns and silencers...

I really do appreciate everyones opinions and advice. Thank you.
