Post subject: | BUSA Service Question |
I sent my B-1 to BUSA for service. Per their instructions the watch was sent registered mail USPS. I have tracked the watch and it was signed for by BUSA on Wednesday morning. I have not received a confirmation email or call from BUSA as of this email notifying me they are in receipt of my watch. Is this normal? I plan on calling them today. Thanks, Guy |

^^ Agreed... They never contacted me when I sent my Navitimer for warranty work until I emailed/called until finally getting a response. I also have learned that they have people who cover different regions in the country. It was certainly nearly difficult getting my questions answered which caused my case taking more than an extra month from communication. btw- I would highly recommend shipping w/ fedex or ups since I believe USPS doesn't cover the total value. I shipped mine with UPS. |

Just curious...I assume the service includes a battery change as well, yes? If so, can you say how long the battery life is? Just received an Airwolf and I assume the battery life will be similar. I've heard an advertised battery life of 2 - 3 years, but wondering if that's what you're actually experiencing. |

Service on quartz is generally driven by a battery needing changing. Airwolf battery is rated at 2 - 3 years but actual life will depend on use of functions. |

I received my Airwolf in Oct 07. I had to have the battery changed some time last winter. So I was inside the forth year of operation. I would imagine battery life is directly related to how often you use the other functions on the watch, i.e. the backlight, chrono, alarm, etc. I did not use mine often. Funny now how I enjoy my mechanical pieces much more than the Airwolf which was my first "nice" watch. To be honest, belonging to this forum started my "watch" hobby! or rather it feed my interest.. The last battery lasted a little over 3 years. The battery completely died before I sent it in. I am just getting the basic battery and gasket change this go around. It had the full service last time. |

I suppose I'll be sending it in sooner rather then later. |

Watches fall under jewelry according to UPS and Fedex and they have a liability max of $1000 last I checked. Often the reps for those company don't ask the pertinent questions as to the contents of a box but they will when you make a claim and then they'll break the bad news to you. I can insure my watches for any amount through the USPS which will require verification as to value if lost. Not usually a problem. Paul |
