Post subject: | To cruise, or not to cruise...that is the question |
I'm going on a week long cruise on the Oasis of the Seas (btw anyone here been on there?). Thinking to bring my Breitling World with me, but also worried. I used to wear a Tag Heuer before and this watch could take ANYTHING. I've dropped it on the sidewalk (by accident), not a scratch on the crystal. Wear it fishing, wear it on the beach, wear it at the gym, everywhere - no problem. On the cruise, I'm worried about taking the Breitling off when going into the water (worried I will forget to take it off), worried that I might bump into something and scratch it (are they THAT sensitive?), worried in general I guess. Was thinking to take both, use the Breitling for the dinners and such, and the Tag for everything else (zip line!) - what are your thoughts? |

I would wear it only at night, and only bring it if the stateroom has a safe. Which it must..... |

Navis aren't known for their WR, so for that reason alone, if you think there's a risk you might forget to take it off before going into water, don't take it. Or follow Vegas's suggestion, and simply leave it in the safe before going on excursions where you might encounter "adventuresome" circumstances. |

Yep, use the Tag for adventure and the B for being suave at night! |

Speaking as a well seasoned cruiser (I spent 10 years working on ships) I can safely say that all rooms have safes ![]() |

Every Royal Caribbean stateroom has a safe in it. Wear the tag during the day and the Navitimer at night. I believe one member on here bought a B01 on the Oasis since they have a Breitling AD on board. |

I have been on several cruises as well, my latest being this past Feb. I would suggest bringing the World and leaving it in the safe during the day. You'll probably want to wear it to dinners (especially formal nights) and the shows etc.. Have a great time! |

Or, you can take Breitling's TAG for the day or the water: ![]() |

Hi, I don't have an opinion on whether or not to bring it - but as someone said, there will be a safe in your cabin. However, I would like to say that at the end of February I sailed on the Oasis' sister ship, the Allure of the Seas. I had been on 4 or 5 cruises before this one...and without a doubt it was the best cruise I had ever been on. The ship is incredible - there is so much to do on the ship, that we missed some things that we wanted to do. The ship was so nice - the food was great - and such good service, that it spoiled me...I honestly don't think I will ever want to go on another ship than the Allure (or the Oasis). Be sure to check out the waveriders at the back of the ship on top..even if you dont want to try them it is fun to watch people using them. And it was on my cruise that I became interested in watches. I got a bad sunburn the first day (I used 50spf but it didn't work as advertised)...so I had to spend the next few days out of the sun. Anyway there was a jewelry store on the ship that sold Breitlings, Omegas, Longines, Tissots and maybe a couple of other brands. Since I had to stay in the shade, I stopped by the store several times during the days at sea and started to look at watches. I tried a bunch of them on and the salesman explained the differences in brands etc. When I got home I did some more research and a month later got my Steelfish. Have a great time. What is your itinerary btw? |

I hope you have a great time on the cruise and all rooms have a safe so don't worry about not being able to lock it up. The allure and oasis are the 2 best ships on the water right now. The company I work for handles the majority of the cruise vessels in NA as far as loading/unloading baggage and stores (I.e. Food, goods, supplies) and all our people make sure to handle all your luggage with care. Let me know how your trip goes, would like an outsiders view and feedback on your experience especially the drop off and baggage handling portion. |
