As a first time, high end watch newbie (other than a considerably less expensive Maurice-Lacroix) I am SO pleased with my Airwolf. I've had my eye on a Breitling for years, but could never bring myself to make the purchase until this offer came along. We made the group purchase in December 2010 (submitted my check last October!) and had to wait an excruciating 7 months for the production run to be complete. I received #10/26 (as engraved on the back) and could not be happier! The quality is amazing, and the detail is extraordinary - especially on the AF Command Badge. My ONLY slight displeasure is the lack of detail of the Spec Ops Herc - I would have thought there are been better images out there to chose from if they were just going to go with the slick version. But like I said, it is only a SLIGHT displeasure...my overall satisfaction level is 99.9% As soon as I can figure out how to post the pics I'll upload them...if anyone is interested. BTW, thanks for this great forum...I've been checking it out every day since the purchase was made. It has been an excellent tool serving as a great distraction (and an awesome Breitling education which enhanced my appreciation of my watch) during my long wait. Keep up the great work everyone!! |

That watch is Epically Cool. Gotta post up more pictures. How is the bezel as I have heard they turn fairly easy and often change position unexpectedly (or maybe that was the Raven version) anyway, yours is badass! EDIT: Are these for pilot/navigator only like the X-33's or could the support team order as well? 26 pilots for the different Hercs across the unit or 26 crew for one Herc? Thanks for your service |

Thanks for your service The bezel turns nicely, firm but with a nice glide. The offer was opened up to whomever in our MC-130P Combat Shadow wanted to join to include aircrews, maintenance personnel, family members (one crewmember bought two, one for himself and one for his father), staff members and retired members as well. We have three squadrons of this C-130 variant, one in Japan, one in England and one in Florida. The offer was open for anyone. More pics... |

Very nice. I always think the logo versions of the Airwolf are much the nicest as they have a flat dial and no cut-off numbers. And seeing the steel bezel version again, makes me wonder even more why Breitling have ditched it in favour off the Raven. Apologies to Raven owners but I personally much prefer the steel bezel version. |

I love it. ![]() As an aside, I have thouroughly enjoyed my superquartz B-1 for the last six years and even though it is the only non-mechanical chronograph I own, it enjoys the most wrist time by far. If Breitling added a 406mhz ELT to the caliber 78, the grail watch of all time would be here. ![]() Speaking of limited editions, a few years ago we didn't have a large enough group to commission a production run of this one for our airshow team... ![]() ![]() Best, Ron |

Apologies to Raven owners but I personally much prefer the steel bezel version. I totally agree about the black bezel on the Raven...not sure what Breitling had in mind there. Maybe a to improve readability of compass rose on bezel (white on black)? But the rubber feature is questionable. I'm sure it's incredibly durable, but the traditional bezel is probably just as durable. I especially like the baton feature at the 6 o'clock position versus the cut off number. And the accuracy of the watch is incredible! It was was perfectly set to the second when I received it 3 weeks ago and has not lost even a milisecond since - it's been EXACTLY spot on! Perfect for pre-mission time hacks. Bottom line, thanks for the positive affirmation! I know there's the on going debate between the quarts movement and the automatics - and I completely understand the watch "purists" postion...that the movement is "alive" and all that. But there is a lot to be said for a timepiece that keeps time as impecably as the thermocompensated superquartz - especially when you're in the line of business where perfect mission choreography (to the second) is vital. Absolutely an instrument for professionals... |

I believe Breitling did a disservice by discontinuing the B-1. As much as I love my Airwolf, I like the looks of the B1 even more. The streamlined bezel and the full number "6". I'm happy that Breitling replaces the cut-off "6" with a baton on the Limited Edition Airwolfs, I think I'd rather have the full number as with the B-1. What ultimately sold me on the Breitling Professional was my brother-in-law's LE B-1 (blue dial F-15 logo) which his unit bought about 6 years ago. He's a Strike Eagle driver and has flown with his B-1 under high Gs on many occasions. And it's held up like a champ! |

Congrats on the new Airwolf! I hope it gets a lot of flight time! ![]() I have to agree with Driver8... now that I've seen the steel bezel version again, it just looks so much better than the raven model. I wasn't a fan of the rubber pusher inserts either! I had this one up until a few weeks ago: the Airwolf Raven Reno LE (traded it for a Blackbird). Silly rubber bits aside, it is one of my favourite Breitling SQ dials. I wouldn't mind getting a logo dial Airwolf again sometime. ![]() ![]() |
