Hello Gents,

New guy here, but I've been a reader for quite some. I'm a Navy pilot and after several deployments, I've finally decided to buy the watch I've had my eye on for years now- the Breitling B01 Chronomat.
Naturally, I began my search at jewelers, and quickly discovered that the watch appears to be appreciating quickly! Surprised to see it being sold for ~$8900 this year. Although I could afford it, I'm having trouble justifying the expense when it appears that mint pre-owned models can be owned for thousands less. Question is- what should I expect to pay for one?

a) Let's say for instance a 2009 model?

b) Is there a particular model year I should avoid, or any major differences in the last 4 years or so?

c) Finally, where would you recommend I look to pickup a mint condition B01 at pre-owned pricing?

Many, many thanks for the help gents! I hope to be a regular contributor here in the near future...!

Best,

Holiday

Pricing is covered in question 2 of this section of the FAQs - http://www.breitlingsource.com/articles_faq.shtml#8

There have been no significant changes to the B01 Chronomat since it was introduced so no years to particularly avoid. If you are looking pre-owned then the usual places are eBay or Chrono24, but also look at the Sale sections here, Timezone, WatchUSeek, etc.

As Roff said, no significant changes since B01's introduction in 2009 but prices on new ones have taken a hike this year. It may less be the case for pre-owned though. IMO, the sales section of the forum is your safest bet. Lot's of dependable members here.

Happy landings. :)
