I bought my first Breitling a few months ago, a Navitimer, and I love it so much I've been wearing it almost daily. I'm aware of it's lack of water resistance, so I avoid water, but I'm curious how it will hold up otherwise.

In particular I've grown to hate public restroom hand driers, because I often catch myself shaking water off my hands... surely shaking a Breitling like that can't be good for it?

There's some scratches on the clasp where my hand rests on desks and whatnot, but that seems unavoidable. Can those be polished out?

What else should I keep in mind when wearing a Navitimer daily?

Thanks.

I think that you need to relax a little

Shaking your hands is not going to damage a watch, just wear it and enjoy it.

The scratches on the clasp can be easily removed - just do a search for cape cod or sunshine cloths on here.

That watch will most likely outlast you. I have vintage watches that are 60 years old and still going strong. Just enjoy it!

I wouldn't worry about normale use at all. Everyday actions like shaking some water off or clapping at a concert should be no problem at all. Just take it off if you're going to operate a jack-hammer :)

Breitlings aren't wimps. Don't worry so much -- just wear it,
enjoy it -- and try not to drop it on concrete. (By the
way, for what it's worth, I've dropped my Steelfish and IWC
Aquatimer several times --butterfingers! -- and they're still
running fine... :))

Shared the same concerns and truly appreciate the response from the team!!

Aside from water resistance I no longer have concerns about its toughness.
