Over the course of this year I'll be doing a lot of travelling for various reasons. At some point I'd like to pick up an Avenger Seawolf Chrono (as I've mentioned before) and was wondering which country might offer the best deal. I live in the UK, which is horribly expensive, though I'll soon be visiting the USA, Canada, Central America / Caribbean, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and Bangkok. I know many here have suggested that the US would be the best place to buy, but Singapore and Hong Kong are also cheap for electronics and gadgets. Does anyone have any ideas on prices in these countries? |

Hong Kong is cheap, I was there last Feb. I lost count of the number of AD'S on Nathan road alone. A mate bought a Rolex there which was considerebly cheaper the UK and haggled a very good discount. |

Hello: As to which country or continent is the least exspensive --I don't know for sure. Seems to me that various locations and circumstances have pros and cons. Are you going to be in a specific place at a certain time that offers an opportunity, then buy, you saved money as you did not have to make a trip just to purchase. For me St Thomas and St Martin and Jamaica are the best locations since I live in SW Florida and those locations are my vacation spots. I prefer St Thomas and St Martin- St Martin gives a better discount but St Thomas gives me a higher duty free level. Don't want to pay customs or the tax man ![]() ![]() |

I would try and find out your best validated price and check with your local AD, or any fairly local AD. There is something to be said for service. It just depends on what price you want to put on that service, ie. polishing, preferred status on new product, etc. |
