Nope has never happened. Most people don't know what I'm wearing. |

I've had similar experiences with my black-dial CSO. One friend asked if it was blue, while another one told me she liked the blue dial. Another time, I called an AD to inquire about their stock of Evos. He said, "We have a blue dial on steel, and a black-dial two tone." I went in just an hour or two later. He was right about the black two-tone, but the other watch had a grey dial that he mistook for blue due to the AR coating. It doesn't bother me that people think it's blue, but I don't like the blue look the way I used to. I used to think it looked cool. Now I think it tends to make watches look unnecessarily sporty. I've seen watches that have AR coating only on the inside of the crystal. It works just about as well at eliminating glare, but doesn't impart a blue cast to the crystal. Also, since sapphire is harder than the AR coating, it's easier to get scratches on the coating. |

Never happened to me. Wouldn't really be bothered either way. What matters is that i know and like the colour. |

I have a black dial SOH 46 and in certain light the black dial looks like a deep navy colour and most light a dark, rich black. I like the fact that my watch dial is like a chameleon - adds interest in my opinion. |

My wife still swears my CSO is blue...even though it's black!!! Happened two me with others. I find that natural indirect light (being inside or in the shade) gives that blue glow to the AR... For my part, i like it, gives my watch a different color! ![]() |

I guess that it usually happens with black faced Breitlings. If you look at some pics posted in the Gallery, and depending on the light and the angle that the pic is taken, some black look blueish. |

I didn't particularly like it at first, but acclimated to it. The reality is no one has ever commented on the dial color of any watch I was wearing. I disagree that brands with AR under the crystal reduce glare as well. It depends a lot on the texture of the dial - gloss or matte, but I've spent some significant dinero for some pretty "glarey" watches. Some Omegas come to mind. And I had one pre-owned Breitling that obviously had the outer A/R removed and didn't like that at all. |

My statement was probably overbroad, as I was thinking of a specific watches I've seen. The Omega America's Cup Seamaster was one such watch. Between the curved crystal, the wavy matte dial, and the AR on one side, it seemed fairly glare-free to me; at least that's my memory of it. Speaking of glare, I sometimes have to questions just how effective the double AR coating is at eliminating it. In taking pictures of my CSO, I had to deal with a lot of reflections off the crystal, and adjust the angle accordingly. The difference was, the reflections were blue/violet, instead of white. As such, the reflections might not have been as bright or intense, but they still interfered with the visibility of the dial. |

i actually own a omega planet ocean 45mm and from what i compared so far, the ar coating on this is so much better than breitlings... top notch really, describing in words, the omega ar coating is present but barely visible, under any circunstances makes the watch look blue, the breitling in the contrary looks like dark blue most of the times also the lume is top notch, = or even better than the blackbird, i believe it takes less to glow more in the dark, and i believe it lasts longer than the bird |

The only thing a stranger has told me is "Nice watch." To those who know me, when I mention the dial changes colors in light or absence thereof, they think it is really cool. Personally, I like that extra little bit of variation, surprise, what have you. My Breitlings have had better AR than anything else I have had. Its better than my Rolex, and Shark is right about the XXI; the AR is practically non-existent. Yet, I have been able to rise above this unfortunate drawback...and it, too, changes colors depending on light. I'm probably the wrong person to comment--I want a Reverso Duo. |

...and that would certainly explain why my Rollie has some glare. |
