Always wanted a Blue Dial Superocean , and I was always sorry that they stopped making them before I got one . I have looked at Chrono24 for a good second hand one but hadn't found anything to tempt . I was killing time at work today and I looked at the Joma Shop and they were displaying a Blue Dial Superocean . I clicked on it for a closer look and sure enough it is the old style Superocean with a blue dial .I placed the order and now I impatiently wait .
This watch will probably have been made a year or longer ago and sat in a warehouse . Does a new watch that has sat idle for a year have any deterioration in the lubricants ? Will this watch require servicing or just a lot of love and use ?
In theory a one year old watch is a one year old watch regardless of whether it has been worn or not, the lubricants will age at the same rate. The potential problem is with the oils migrating from where they are needed through lack of use - if the watch can maintain COSC specs and an approximately 42 hour power reserve then you should be fine.
