I'm trying to build my own SA from parts. I have movement, dial, bracelet and bezel... All used. I can't find a used case anywhere. Watchmakers say that's hard to get. I've spent a lot of money to get stuck at the end. Direct from breitling would probably eat up the money I saved parting it together. Any ideas? Thanks

just curious did you do this because you wanted to save the money or did you do this as some sort of pet project?

I wanted to save money and buying one part a month made it affordable for me.

Let's see some photos of what you have including the movement.

a. Good luck finding one. Ive never seen one for sale.

b. Even if you decided to pony up and go to Breitling, they wouldnt sell you one.

Probably would have been a good idea to research this beforehand. Generic ETA, OEM bracelet/dial/bezel are fairly easy to find. The case is near impossible.

If I recall correctly some guy was selling Oem Cases on here last week ,and Roff removed the post because he appeared to be a commercial seller. I seem to recall him having a case for a Sa. Good luck putting it together, what you are doing is awesome!!!

I'll get some pics up. The only advice a watchmaker could offer was get an aftermarket case. That doesn't make me happy.

Thankfully it's difficult to get genuine cases...

While one can appreciate the effort it takes to do this, I wish it wasn't even remotely possible....

Being able to cobble one of these together from parts off Ebay and other "sources", is ridiculous.

Actually I've heard Breitling is one of the toughest brands to get parts for. Am I wrong on this?

Well, yes...I think I spoke too soon. The stuff out there really isn't Breitlings fault...

There are dials all over Ebay. I guess they come from people who had custom dials with diamonds put in and they dump the OEM dials.

Straps and bracelets are EASILY available...which they should be, but it makes it very easy to doll up a fake and it's another step to make what the OP is doing happen..

The movement for the SA is just a V7750, so that's easy to get too...the date font is different...but that seems to be easy to get as well..

So, the case, crown, pushers should be hard to get if Breitling is as tough as we think they are..
