My AD has just sent me details of a new limited edition Breitling. I was already unsure about the Superocean GMT but with a green rubber-molded bezel.
Limited edition of 1,000 and around £3,100.
What does anyone think?

l would like to see what this watch would look like had Breitling actually designed a case for it, instead of reusing the unsellable Colt GMT case. I am not a fan of the integrated bracelet, even on rubber. This could have been an amazing watch. As it is, it looks prety cool if I crop off the lugs and bracelet.

Yeah to all of the above. I'd that bezel green rubber? If so that's horrible. A green ceramic bezel might make it nicer but those lugs just don't do it for me.

AD says it is rubber molded just as Superocean 42 with steel edges on bezel

Conceptually I prefer this to some of the recent designs, but agree that the rubber is still an issue for me - sapphire covered bezel, ceramic, heck SOH style and this would have some good potential.

In terms of the lugs :yeahthat , just looking at the thumbnail those lugs dominate the whole watch.

No thanks.

I don't like the red second hand and writing with the green - horrible colour clash. Plus I hate rubber bezels at the best of times, but a GREEN rubber bezel?? Errrr... no thanks.

Looks like a mess to me.

As D8 said, the red doesn't go well with the green, and I think the bezel number font clashes horribly with the dial number font. I don't like the integrated bracelet, and although I don't hate rubber bezels, I can't imagine a green one is going to look good in person.

:yeahthat Don't mind the rubber bezel and the green looks OK to me.

Now slap a ceramic bezel on that watch and it might look pretty good. I really like the Rolex GMT II Master with the ceramic bezel.

With this watch it's Christmas all year round! Perfect for Santa and no one else.

Out of curiosity....which material, sapphire or ceramic, is considered more durable, scratch resistant , etc.? I have had my eye on an Aquatimer 2000 for some time, but the Sub-C gets all the love.

Secondly....when considering the Aquatimer and something like this offering, both of which I am guessing are similarly priced, I just feel like I am getting more in the IWC. Just my two cents

If Breitling hadn't already jumped the shark, they certainly would have with this model. Seriously, Breitling, pull your heads out of your asses and come up with some designs I can get excited about. At this point, I really am no longer a fan of the brand. I love some of their older stuff, but I can honestly say I couldn't give two sh*ts about the brand as it currently exists.

Make that bezel orange and I'm in.

That's a really good quesetion...I'd like to know that awesome as well. I'm gonna say that Ceramic is more scratch resistant than sapphire.

I agree that the IWC is much more watch for the money than this not-so incredible hulk disaster.

I don't know either way, although I'll note how many times it's been said that sapphire is second in hardness only to diamond.

The current Aquatimer is a sweet watch. It's a little bulky for my taste, but if it had the same dimensions as an Omega SMP or PO, I'd be all over it.
