I posted earlier today for info on the movement of the 1997 Old Navitimer II (model number as described to in Ebay auction)d13022. I had it broke open today and a very competent watchmaker said the movement was correct and not a Russian or Chinese knockoff due to a few parts that they have not been able to duplicate yet. See I bought the watch on ebay I think last Tuesday and I have a few days to find out all I can about the watch or send it back. I am deberry1212 on Ebay and the watch was listed as Old Navitimer II by a seller in Kendall,Florida and it sold for $2500 one bid(please check it out and let me know what you think). Now the watch was described on Ebay as a navitimer D13022 but nowhere in the warranty card or anywhere else was that model number used. The the paper work with the watch gives is D1302012U1 serial number 7190 purchased on 13/5/1997. Also I have noticed on most Old Navitimers II even from the 90's that bars are used instead of numbers and my watch has numbers. This puzzles me. The band I believe has been changed to a metal bracelet. The bracelet does not curve with the curve of the round case at the lugs but is only straight across. But the bracelet seems high quality and it is etched on the inside of the bracelet with 400a and also IV 96. Please let me know what you think and whether I should send it back. Thanks for your help for I am new at this Breitling watch buying but love the looks of these watches.

Can you post a link to the auction?

As br549 says, post a link to the auction and we can check the photos.

400a is a bracelet code, but I think it's a Cosmonaute bracelet - bnewbie can confirm when he sees this.

D13020 is a perfectly acceptable code for a TT Old Navi II - it's a special edition for the Japanese market and I would pretty much guarantee that it's real.

It looks good to me. As Roffensian said Bnewbie can give you some more details concerning the bracelet.

Didn't see that version, but everything is real (bracelet also, but I don't have ref# for bracelets that old).
Seller states that it's serviced in June 2009, that explaines new style date font.

The date's what made me wonder.

These bracelets always look fake compared to modern ones, but this is actually a good example of what the early ones looked like.

As everybody say, this is a real Breitling, real bracelet (ref:400A).

Now what can make the price goes down is, I can see that the bracelet
was polished (how many times ?). If your bracelet and case has no more angles,
just beware of the handyman...

K.

I know this is an old post but would anyone recall if the band is the same as the one in the following link. It has the same numbers 400A and IV 96. Thanks

Oddly enough I don't recall an eBay listing from 20 months ago, but the bracelet that you linked to is real.

That is very odd, would you know if this is a navitimer braclet? I ask because the clasp is different and isn't listed shown under http://www.breitlingsource.com/bracelets_straps.shtml Thanks!

Another thing I thought I'd mention is that this band feels lighter compared to the regular navitimer bracelet.

As we established in 2009 400a is believed to be for Cosmonaute. It's a 15 year old bracelet which wasn't as well made / designed as current versions which is why it feels different.
