Rightly or wrongly I was led to believe that Mineral Glass never had AR coating but Sapphire did is this true?

The reason I asked is I had a pluton/intruder bezel I bought and I bought it being told it was Sapphire crystal and it was just sold on ebay as such, However the buyer has now come back and said its not Sapphire but Mineral who is right?it was AR coated on both sides and my watch maker told me it was sapphire,Did they fit sapphire or mineral to the Intruder/Academy/New Pluton range?
