I always check retail, in my mind deduct 30% and them offer them that amount cash OTD and it never fail with my guy, about 1-2 watches a year. |

Goodbye AD's, HELLO Boutiques... We'll see how much longer Breitling puts up with 30% off retail.. The US market may not be crucial for Breitling at the moment, but it will be in the future. Nevertheless, boutiques simply cannot handle the volume of retail distribution. Breitling themselves refer to their NYC Boutique as a "Breitling Museum." US AD outlets have dropped and will continue to decrease somewhat because the market won't support the current amount of points of sale, not because of discounting. As an aside, why is it Breitling discounting is perceived as such a problem when the same % discounts are easily had for brands like AP, JLC, Breguet, G.O., IWC, Zenith......shall I go on? |

If youve got the contacts, 30% is pretty much doable on almost any brand (except the usual suspects). |

If you can get between 15% - 20% on a Panerai and/or Rolex you did well. I'd expect a 30% discount on a Super Avenger although I'd never buy one because of the massive size for me. |

nobody is giving you 30 off out the door tax included, thats 34 off. so you expect the dealer to work off a sub 10% margin, yet provide you all the inventory and service you want....it doesnt quite work that way. |

Agree with you FEAR. I would love to purchase my Breitling's for 30% off out the door, but unless an AD is hurting, bad, I don't see that happening. I've tried my best with my local AD but he would send me down the street trying to work off a 10% or less margin, and stock the product, service it, and advertise it. He has told me that BUSA is about to come down hard on many of the guys that are aggressively discounting the brand. Supposedly the national sales manager has a few of the big dogs in their crosshairs now. I guess we will see how hard they are willing to police the margins in the near future. As long as my AD takes care of me like he has in the past I'll be happy. |
