Post subject:  Breitling B1 Problem

Hey everyone. I'm new!

I just got a B1 2006+ and I few weeks ago the second hand stopped moving. If I go to chrono it doesn't go to the top (12). Its looks like its stuck. I tried changing the battery, but that didn't seem to help. Anyone have an idea what could be wrong? I was trying to avoid to take it to Breitling for a check up. I've heard that basic service is $500 and they have a back log of at least a month.

Can anyone help?

If you have had a battery change and that's not fixed it, then it's likely to be something more fundamental requiring Breitling's intervention. I think you're going to have to bite the bullet and go for the service I'm afraid.

Just to confirm... does the seconds hand not move at all when the time mode is displayed?

NO. No matter what I try to do. The second hand does not move. The other hands are fine. I thought it was a battery issue. But even after replacement, it still didn't work.

The ways of the B1 are many and varied.....

Mine has a ghost...Take the watch into a good AD and get them to check out the settings before spending on it.

Thanks. It looks like I might have to do that. I've gon through all the possible settings. The watch should make the seconds hand go to 12 if I use the chrono, but thats not working either. It's probably a mechanical failure of some sort. :(

Hi - Sorry to drag a post from the grave, but my B1 is doing exactly this and I wondered if the OP (if they're still around - Doubtful with just 4 posts ever!) ever resolved it?

Or does anyone else know the cause?

I know I could send it back to Breitling, but I'm loathe to do so and pay 50% of what I paid for the watch for a 'service' if it's actually a relatively simple fix.

Otherwise, the watch is working perfectly (Time, other hands, other functions, etc).

Thanks.

M

I just checked their profile, and the OP hasn't logged into the site since Nov 2011 so it's probably fair to say they probably won't be back anytime soon. So unless anyone else has had the same issue and managed to get it resolved I think you'll be out of luck I'm afraid.

Apart from going back to Breitling you may be able to find an independent who knows Breitling SQ movements, but I can't personally recommend anyone. Maybe someone else can chime in.

The issue is the watch itself. Take it back to breitling. Only fix.
