Post subject: | Watch on strap- storage |
Hey, this is quite a random question but when my watch was on the pilot bracelet I used to put it into its leather box/ travel case at night. Now I have a strap with tang I'm wondering whats the best thing to do at night or during a period where the watch is not being worn. What I mean is should I leave the watch laying flat out when the strap is fitted or put it as I normally would into the leather case. My reason for wondering this is that if I put the watch into the case (hence buckling it up around the pillow) won't I increase wear on the strap? PS> Maybe i'm just thinking too much! haha ![]() |

Personally, I would just wrap it around the pillow without fastening the buckle. I'm not a fan of tang buckles and much prefer deployants, as they keep the straps in much better shape over the long term by spreading out the force applied to the strap rather than concentrating it on the single hole. I agree that on a pillow, unless it is tightly fastened around it, it won't add much wear at all, but you can avoid any wear by not fastening it. |

You can store the watch on the pillow just be sure not to use the tang buckle between the hours of 8pm and 3am.....oh wait.....that's a different thread. Yea you're over thinking it! |

Why don't you want to just lay it flat? And yeah, definitely over thinking this one. Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk |

I will say that my Navitimer Bracelet is just tight enough that the clasp barely closes. I have worried a bit about stretching it out, but never thought twice about my straps. |
