With the end of my undergraduate degree looming I decided to finally get myself a Breitling. I remember seeing them for the first time when I was a kid wandering around the mall with my parents and was particularly drawn to the yellow display case they were in.

There is a slight hitch. I have a small wrist and the watch that suits me best is the old Superocean. The only down side is that the only one at the AD (which is also the only AD in my area of the province) is in blue which I am not terribly fond of. The wonderful lady at the AD said she is going to call her Breitling Rep on Monday to try and track it down in Coral or Yellow for me. Then from there I will be en route to my first (and clearly favorite) Breitling.

I'll keep you guys up to date on how all of this plays out!
Kyle

Well the AD is also trying to track down a Yellow one too, so hopefully, if not I guess I'll settle for the blue one, it's not THAT but I would prefer Coral or Yellow.

The AD is offering me the old style superocean for 2354.00 CAD. It's the last one they have. Good deal?

Why not pick up a previously owned one?

I just bought a used one (yellow dial) and it's in great condition.

That's one idea but the AD told me they'd let me pay it off over the next couple months as my paycheques start to roll in with no interest. Still finishing up University so I can barely afford to pay attention but I can afford to make small incremental payments towards this bad boy. I guess I could just save up what I would be paying towards the new watch and just put that towards a used one. I'm just worried I won't find the one I want. Oh well I'll have to figure it out.

Well today I did it. I bought the old style Superocean. Apparently last one in Alberta. Blue dial. AB-SO-LUTELY love it. I can see how this becomes an addiction. Pics to come with a better story, for now I'm going to sit and stare at it.

That'll be difficult to do 'cause you won't be able to take it off your wrist anytime soon. :)

Congrats on the new acquisition anyhow. :lingsrock:

Congratulations and hope you get many years of enjoyment from wearing an exceptionally made watch. This may sound crazy, but I just bought myself a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Superocean heritage 46 on a mesh strap. Honestly, I more excited about the watch than I am about the new vehicle. If looked after, your new watch will last you a lifetime (unlike my Santa Fe).

Enjoy

:yeahthat
That's an understatement - I got my first Breitling (Steelfish) on April 23, and I still can't stop looking at it, a month and a half later....I think my family thinks I'm crazy! One thing the OP might want to watch out for....if you frequent this forum, you *WILL* catch the bug....I have already started to replenish my watch fund for my next watch - probably a pre-owned big date Blackbird...

Many Congratulations on

1) your first Breitling
2) Finding exactly what you were after
3) Locating a very rare BNIB model
4) Getting to the end of your degree

Enjoy and let's see those pictures already.
