Interesting they still never say how many in-house movements they actually produce per year. It's always, "We have the capability to produce 50,000".

And while I agree they may have a strategic direction movement-wise, I'd definitely dispute that they currently do design-wise.

With quotes like this, the VP clearly hasn't spoke with me, "Our goal was to have our own high performance, reliable chronograph movement that was suitable for series production with minimum impact on after-sales service."

As my B01 has been back to BUSA three times already, I'd say the After Sales Service dept. has been plenty busy.

If 50,000 is 20% then they make 250,000 chrongraphs per year.
50,000 is 50% of mechanical chronos so they make 100,000 per year so that means they make 150,000 quartz chrons per year. A lot of quartz.

And at odds with the COSC numbers. We know that 2009 was a bad year for comparisons because of the economy, but in 2008 COSC certified 234,021 mechanical movements for Breitling (they don't segregate chronograph and non chrono) and 56,224 quartz movements. COSC in total in 2008 only certified a little over 60,000 quartz chronos.

So totals broadly in line, but the claims on quartz calibers are seriously out of whack.
