I cannot afford a Bentley, nor a Bentley Motors watch, but... I have driven Jaguars (always pre-owned) for years and lately a rather nice X300 saloon which some will know is a bit of a lump. On Monday I picked up my new (used) black XK8 coupe and chose to wear my Navitimer as I settled into the cosseting ivory leather. Thing is, the XK8 is a brute, or as Jaguar describe it, a predator (think I'll copyright the name Breitling Predator pdq) and the only one of my watches I can really match with the car is the Steelfish - they go so well together. Got me thinking, do others match their watch with their car, or for the lucky few boat or plane? |

I don't really buy watches to match my car.. though the Breitling Blackbird would match my car the best of all the Lings out there. I buy watches that I like, and cars that I like.. neither really for the either. |

Don't even have a car myself, but if I had gobs of money, I would get 2 Bentleys, a car and a watch to go with it! I did see an absolutely gorgeous Bentley coupe a couple of weeks ago. It was a beautiful dark green with an amazing dark tan interior...the kind of dark tan you see on very expensive wallets and handbags etc. Of course, my eyes went immediately to the clock on the dashboard! I have also seen a black Bentley around. Honestly, of any car I have seen, that just screams class all the way! I am not much in limos, but when I see Queen Elizabeth II's Bentley Limousine on TV I can't help but drool with admiration. Here is a link to the website, about the delivery of the vehicle to Her Majesty: http://www.classics.com/que2.html I really wish Breitling would come up with a simply dress watch, maybe with a white porcelain dial, and just black numerals with no calendar or anything, which would emulate the clock on the Bentley dashboard. If I ever get the Bentley, you will all be the first to know! By the way, I would get the Breitling Bentley 6.75, the 6.75 (modified) turbo engine in the Queen's Bentley. This has to be the most beautiful limo or vehicle I have ever seen! Cheers, Carl |

Carl, speaking of Bentley's in the Vancouver area.. My friend has a Cyprus (Grey-Green) colored Continental GT, and a White dialed Bentley Mark VI to go with it. Lucky bastard... oh if only I were a rich man. |

Hi Admin, The green one sounds like the one I saw, except it had a New York license plate on it. Wonderful vehicle to drive across the continent in! Cheers, Carl |

How did the Breitling Bentley series come about anyway? |

I know the latest Bentleys have Breitling clocks in them, so I guess the marketing boys decided that a clever bit of cross marketing was in order. Seems to have worked well for both parties. |
