Its been a while since I have been on here, but I spent most of this rainy sunday reading and catching up on posts. Quick question: has anyone seen the new Superocean 44 in person yet? Is it brushed steel? Any ideas of pricing? Headed to the AD tomorrow to see what I can find out. Keith. |

Justin, thank you. How have you been? I am going to have to cross the bridge into Philly and see George I think. Keith. |

I've seen them - I'm pretty sure the case IS the old Steelfish case and it's finished the same. Both were on DPII/deploy putting the price near 4 Grand. Being such a Steelfish fan, I can't be objective so I won't comment further. ![]() |

I am a big steelfish fan. It is my best Ling as far as looks and accuracy. I did try a new SO 44 last week. While it may be the same case as the SOS, it definately wears a little bigger due to the bezel. I did not think I would like the rubber bezel, although I actually did. Funny thing is I had my blue dial SOS with me at the time. Held next to eachother, the SO 44 did seem much larger. As far as looks, I like the new SO 44 and would probably get one on PRO II if I didn't already have too many watches. If I get rid of one, I will pick this one up. As for price, I don't think any of them are "worth it". They are all over priced! If you like it, can afford it, get it. If you like it and cannot or do not want to afford it new, then get it used. Either way, as far as price is concerned, it really is hard to justify buying any expensive watch unless your "perceived value" matches the price and condition of the piece. R/ |
