just dropped the 6.75 off at an AD to go to breitling to check out the date problems, wrist feels empty as I dont have another nice watch, went to get my old watch and battery is dead

the AD said worst case 8 weeks to get it back under warranty, 8 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!

it will fly by the wife said, not sure I fully agree with that statement

Hi Nik, what happened to the date on your 6.75? Sorry to hear it's gone wrong on you. Hope it gets sorted as fast as possible.

NB the Steelfish you sold me is going fantastic, and I really love it! It says "say hi to Nik", lol.

Martin

Warranty work is given priority in the service centre so it will likely be quicker than that.

Hi Martin, glad you are still enjoying the SF it really is a great watch and not really sure why I sold it now that its gone,

the 6.75 the date funtion for the 1st digit kept sticking, as in the 0-1-2 when it changed like from the 9th to the 10th, 19th to 20th etc, the second date funtion worked fine just not when they both tried to change at the same time, not sure if that makes any sense

thanks roff, hopefully it will be back sooner, I go away for a week on wednesday so that will pass some more time

This is the very reason you should have a minimum of at least two Breitlings......

well an update on BUK,

its been almost 3 weeks now, they have fixed the problem with the date but did not say what they fixed and have admitted that the dial is not up to standard and they are replacing it. I found this out over a week ago and thought it was great that the dial is being corrected BUT they have no dials in stock and they are waiting on one from switzerland, since the last update a week ago they still dont have any idea when they will get the part and once they do will need another 10+ days to install and test the watch. Ive rang the customer service team a few times as they are meant to ring me back with an estimated date but they never ring back which is not good service. So the 8 week worst case could come true :(

edit, ironically they rang about 2 seconds after I posted this, and said it will be another 2-3 weeks

Hi Nik

you have my sympathy. I really think this calls for a trip up to Andrew Michaels to have a browse and find a second Breitling that you can wear in the meantime!

I hope they stick to three weeks, don't let it get you down, and keep us updated!

PS your old SO SF says 'hi' again :)

Im trying to sympathize for your situation, but I would have purchased the standby watch on the day you dropped it off! Seriously, there is no excuse to not own at least 4 great watches! :) :poke:

Sorry the wrist feels naked right now......

martin - feel free to send back the SF for a few weeks if you like :D

i have a cheap sieko 5 diver that i am wearing that is ok, can not afford to get another breitling at the moment but looking to get something like a hamilton chrono or similar for around the $500 mark in the next few days incase this happens again

My back up to my 6.75 is due to arrive any day but like your intention, I did not buy a ling. To me the bigger issue is being under warranty and not so much the time. Considering by the time you get it back, as much, or more time, will have past as having owned it, so it will probably feel much the same as receiving it the first day.
