Well too bad if you aren't because a little birdie told me that due to a weak US dollar Breitling is having another price increase of around 5% between June 1st and July 1st. There is a nice fish sitting at a local AD that I am thinking about scooping up before the increase! Prices are getting out of control!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My little birdie just told me the same thing. I heard they've got a black dial 'Fish there as well if anyone is interested. They also still have some of the B01 limited editions as well.

Yup. And I believe Rolex is going up 8% tonight. So now a SS Rolex Sub will be just about EIGHT THOUSAND before TAX. :wowzers :wowzers

This is getting a bit ridiculous. I realize that the weak dollar is forcing managment's hand, but there will be very few entry level to mid level watches for the average consumer.

The Transocean is getting further and further out of reach for me.

Yup that was announced last week I believe. The new 42mm Explorer 2 will hit the street at $7,750. Prices are going through the roof. I bought my GMT IIc in August 2010 and the retail price has already increased $1,000 since then. I can't believe a SUB is now $8k USD. Buy ZENITH; they are the only watch company who is reducing prices while everyone else is increasing like crazy! An Abyss will now retail for $3500

Sounds to me like the rest of 2011 is a good time to stand pat.

I've said it before, but global recessions clearly don't affect the Swiss.

Good grief! Am I the only skeptical one who sees more than coincidence with the increase taking effect right about when all the 2011 models will be at the ADs?

This puts a Navi on bracelet at very, very close to $10,000. Let me say that one more time - a Navitimer is about to become a TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR WATCH.

Thanks to the dollar being worthless, all of these pieces are gonna be priced ridiculoulsy. All the more reason to buy your watch from Shark when he gets tired of it.

Slim pick-ins on the preowned shark market lately!!

A Navitimer should NOT be 10k watch unless it prints $100 bills when you press the Chrono. That's just insanity!!! :guns:

Agreed. It's an odd business model: put out a bunch of crap at somewhat reasonable prices that most people don't want to buy, then price the watches people actually like so high that most people won't buy them either. Way to be proud of not doing market research, Breitling. We'll see how proud you are when you get subsumed by LVMH.

:yeahthat Guess I'll be looking more and more at the pre-owned market this year :? . There are still some older discontinued models that I wouldn't mind trying :) .

Satisfaction arrived at a good time. I can't think of a single watch I truly want, other than some topping $25K and I simply refuse to go there. I'll just have to suffer through with a measly 10. :)

:yeahthat Using the Windrider range as an example, I don't see any current offerings equaling, let alone bettering, the Crosswind, Evolution or Blackbird. It's gotten to the point where not only is price driving me to the aftermarket - so are the offerings themselves.
