hi i just bought my first breitling, the b01 chronomat, i was wondering if there is anything i need to know in terms of preserving the watch. do i need to buy a watch winder? if so, which ones are reccommended? im sure this is a repost, but any help would be appreciated. also, is there any do's and dont's, and is there any regular maintenance i should be doing? i own a bunch of watches, but this is my first automatic. thanks for the input!

Welcome to BreitlingSource - the search function will really help you.

If the watch is a daily wearer then there is no need for a watchwinder, if not then you can either manually wind the watch or use a winder. Everything that you want to know about winders here - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=23867

Read the manual, it has some important information in it. While the caliber 01 is an instant change date mechanism it's good practice not to use the quickset date or adjust time backwards between 8pm and 3am - it can cause damage to some watches (but not the Chronomat 01 - it's just good practice).

The watch will need servicing every 5 - 7 years, unless you plan to dive regularly in which case you should get the seals tested and replaced more frequently. Avoid exposing the watch to sudden temperature changes and excessive steam - a sauna is an example, and rinse off any salt water as soon as possible.

Other that that - enjoy it.

Yep, it'd be great to see a shot on the wrist. Congratulations on a great watch!
