I stopped by the local AD today. He had many of the new 2011 Basel additions. I was really looking forward to trying the new Transocean non chrono. He had one of the Transoceans as well as the new Chronomats and Galactic models. I will say the new Galactics do not look, bad as I initially thought, and I actually like the Galactic 36 with the automatic movement and the samll seconds. I may get this one for the wife!

Then I saw the new Super Ocean 44. I must say the one you want / need does indeed speak to you! I was wearing my SOS on ocean racer. The SO 44 was on PRO II. Although the size is somewhat identical to the SOS, the SO 44 wears a little larger due to the darker bezel. Also, the new SO 44 does not have a "themed" rehaut or what ever the inner bezel is called. The rubber bezel was not really something I was interested in until today. The lack of a more defined timing bezel for a "dive" watch is also not on my list of priorities because I do not dive.

Bottom line, if you haven't seen the new models, it may be time for a trip to your closest AD. Watch out though, you may never know which new model with "speak" to you.

Did you happen to see a Galactic/Chronomat 41 or whatever it is called? I would be interested in how the size proportion (specifically thickness) feels.
