Has anyone else noticed that the silver dial Steelfish *seems* to look larger than the black one?

I was in LA the past few days, and while there I stopped at Tourneau in Beverly Hills.

Anyway, as I was browsing thru the Breitlings that they had in stock, I saw what at first glance I suspected to be a Seawolf....but after looking at the dial I realized it was a silver Steelfish. But the reason why I initially thought it was a Seawolf was because it looked larger than my black fish. Unfortunately, I didnt bring my Steelfish on the trip...and Tourneau didn't have a blue or a black for me to compare it with.

Since I bought my Steelfish pre-owned, I was worried that maybe somehow I ended up with a 42mm Steelfish....but when I got home this morning I re-checked the reference # on the bottom and it is indeed A17390...and the dial says that it is water resistant to 2000m (I had checked all of this prior to purchasing the watch...). So I do indeed have a 44mm black dialed Steelfish....but to my eyes, at least, the silver Steelfish seems to look larger.

Maybe it was an optical illusion or something....but I was wondering if anyone else has ever noticed the same thing?

BTW this was the first silver Steelfish I have seen in person, and it sure is a nice looking watch.....very beautiful dial...

Thanks,
Mike

Light / white / silver dials always tend to look larger than black / dark dials.

As an owner of both, I can confirm this completely. The silver one has always appeared larger.

Cool...I'm glad that I wasn't imagining it!

I have what Breiting terms a silver dial. In reality it is a light cream with a white rehaut. I like the look. Depending on the lighting it changes.
