Post subject:  Which Breitling to buy?

Hello All!

I'm hoping to get some help in this area. I am interested in purchasing a Breitling for just every day use.

There seems to be so much out there that I'm starting to not have any fun at all!

I'm hoping you pros out there can help me narrow down the search.

The watch that I would like to purchase would have to have the following specs...so any suggested models would be appreciated!

38-40mm
ss band
white/mother of pearl dial

Mostly the watches that I've seen are too big...so is there a model/series out there I should be looking at?

Thanks!

The galactic chrono is 39mm. A woman at the store wears one, it's a great watch.

There is also a Super Ocean Heritage 38 in a silver dial with a SS mesh bracelet (38mm).

If you would be interested in an Omega, they have a MOP women's speedmaster, also chronograph, at 38mm I believe.

Why are you being offered a woman's watch by these so-called "pros"?
You need to go to an AD and try a bunch on. Larger watches are now in style, and as you wear a larger watch for a week or so, it shrinks optically to the owner. What sized are your wrists?

I'm not sure how big my wrist is. I'm 5'3 and 115lbs if that means anything. My wrists aren't very big. But I do know that 40mm is as big as I want to go. I tried on a watch that was approx 42mm and I felt it was too big.

Just curious, was the du-ude! comment a reference to Ronnie the Limo driver from the Stern show?

Great Sharkman. Thanks for clearing that up, Dude. I like the brotherhood here. It's soothing to see... I've read your posts over the last while, and they usually bore me, and are very non-informative. This one, however, wasn't.

Um, people, a new member has asked for some advice on the models that appeal to her. Let's try and leave her with the impression that we are a helpful bunch eh?

That whooshing sound you just heard was me turning the other cheek. Thanks for sharing and keep coming back.

Chrono Galactic gets my vote.

You might also be able to source a Cockpit. Its larger than you are looking for (41mm), but Breitling tend to wear a bit smaller than usual so it might work.
