Which Breitling do you guys think is the toughest of them all? Which one can you throw into all kinds of different situations and it will survive without any harm being done to it? I have no comparisons but I am quite impressed with the Blackbird. Since it is my everyday watch it is almost impossible to not knock it against something form time to time. The case and bracelet surivived those knocks pretty well with only a tiny scratch on the clasp. Apart from bathing my 2-year old son I have not checked the water-resistance yet. Needless to say the watch had no problems with those bathing sessions. And it appears to be pretty accurate so far although I have not done any precise tests yet. If I really want to test the kind of beating the Blackbird can take I let my son play with it for a while.... but I am not that brave. |

I think that the CA in titanium is one of the most rough-looking Breitlings. The brushed surface screams higher "abuse me!" than the all polished SA, in my opinion. Besides that, it is also excellent to wear to the beach and go swimming with... |

I don't own one, but that titanium Seawolf sure *looks* tough. |

Id have to say that the steelfish it definitely the toughest. Brushed surfaces make it pick up less markings, and the WR is almost unmatched. I would say the seawolf it it werent for the titanium. |

It’s a tough watch! I wore a classic Blackbird the last year I was on duty with the 82d Airborne and wore it during two rotations to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. It’s like Breitling made this watch especially for the military. The brushed finish was defiantly the key to me wearing it and I wore it religiously during the last six years before I retired. With all that said I’m a little disappointed that Breitling went with a shiny finish for its 2008 model. It’s the end of an era! Carlos |

Carlos Apparently the Blackbird will still be available in some form with the brushed stainless. The polished is only one option. This was pointed out to me at my AD a couple weeks ago, a new catalogue (not the Chronlog) that they had got showing the new models. Speaking of tough, I had my SuperOcean for 10 years, and literally wore it every day. Yes, it did get some scratches and the odd dent, but it still look great. I gave it a "bath" every week or so with Sunlight dish detergent, and it sparkled like new each time. Now I have a Steelfish and a Blacksteel. I work for a printing company, and have my hands in and around machinery all day. The Blacksteel is worn there every day, and I have a couple of scratches and nicks, but nothing major. I believe that these watches are meant to be worn and not babied, although I do take precautions and don't abuse them, they seem to be real tough. They are so absolutely beautiful that I could not stand just to store them and not wear them. Cheers, Carl |

I second the SuperOcean, been wearing it daily 1997 - 2006, now it gets a little less wristtime because of the Evo (and soon the SA), but it has survived all those years with only minor scratches on the bracelet, and I have not been kind to it ![]() |

The problem with BIG watches is they attract 'door dings' etc hence my vote for the superocean as well Just make sure its a coral dial to warn other objects to stay away! ![]() |

No doubt they are solid built watches, but would you guys have heart to inflict any abuse on your precious timepieces? ![]() |

![]() Absolutely not! I wear my Breitlings daily but I certainly wont subject them to anything too rough, even though I'm sure they are more than capable of taking it. That's what I have my Omega Seamaster beater for! ![]() |

One of the reasons I picked my Colt was for its reputation for being tough and reliable. |
