I was in need of a break from studying for my physical chem midterm, so I went on ebay, type in watches and choose the highest price+shipping and I got this.

What a sense of humour! $1,000,000 for a steel Crosswind and 30 days of "marketing" on those free-and-open-to-everyone "social" websites, Facebook and Twitter. Bargain.

Sweet! i am a chemist myself. It is one of the most difficult classes you will take, but also the most rewarding. Are you in thermo or quantum?

I made an offer of $1: $3000 for the watch minus a $2999 inconvenience fee for having wasted 90 or so seconds of my life reading his twaddle.*

*Credit to Tom for reminding me of the usefulness of the word 'twaddle.'

I wonder if Al's take is correct, if it's a joke. Not necessarily that the whole ad is a joke; the guy appears to actually be selling a Crosswind. But perhaps the whole marketing thing is an odd attempt at Pythonesque humor, with the expectation that people will get the joke and make reasonable offers. I doubt he's going to succeed; I suspect most people will be driven away, rather than charmed.

Are you saying that the Crosswind rests in peace? Not pushing up the daisies? it is in fact (as a deleted model) an ex Breitling?

If I am selling on the bay and have no bids after a few days I adjust the narrative.
"No bids but lots of watchers, therefore I will increase the starting price by xxx each day until the first bid"

Works well.

This Crosswind is getting more attention than any other one listed on eBay over the last few months so he's doing something right!

Not sure how eBay would see it though.

I am in quantum right now, it is almost like torturing, man. But you are right though, it is very rewarding, and plus the class itself is fun. Hahaha, compare to physical chem, I think O chem is much much more easier, didn't know why I was stressed out too much about it a few quarters ago.
