Hi All,

I've been leant this wonderful Crosswind Special Limited Edition on appro.

I've always loved the look of these.

It comes with all original paperwork and boxes. It is in used but good condition. I feel confident I could make it look mint condition.

I'm a little naive on the Crosswind models. I would love to know what the general thoughts are on these limited edition big date Specials. Are the collectable? How are they generally perceived?

Absolutely any info on these would be greatly appreciated. Especially value.

Here are a few very quick and dirty pictures. It will come on either a bracelet or Ocean Racer rubber with adjustable clasp.

Gorgeous watch.

Many people feel that these are iconic pieces with the CWS being the best of the Crosswind line. Movement is the same as the Blackbird and that can't be a bad thing. In terms of long term value I don't think it's going to stand out more than any other, but it will always be collectible because it's such a classic early 2000s Breitling look.

I think they are one of Breitling's finest looking pieces, love both the classy sporty look and big date. I've seen a white dialed somewhere pictured on the forum and it is spectacular IMO!

Enjoy it while you can or else buy it for keeps :) .

Thanks for the advice Gents.

The watch will be valeted and with a new strap. The asking price is £2600. I've searched all the usual references on line and this seems very reasonable. The seller said they could easily ask £3500 for it, although I'm not so sure about that.

Which year were these Limited Edition brought out?

Many Thanks again.

CWS was available up until 2004, from memory this LE was 2003 / 2004

Hi Ricardo - as I said on my PM, even standard Crosswind Specials are fairly hard to find these days, so I personally think the twin register LE is undoubtedly slightly more collectable. Obviously, as we all know, "slightly more collectable" doesn't necessarily translate in "worth a lot more", but it's still a very collectable piece IMO.

And I think that £2600 GBP is a pretty good price as well..... and especially for the UK.

Very nice indeed!

Thanks for the info Roff and Mr Driver.

Very useful indeed.

I actually thought it was older than 2003/2004. Nearer to the turn of the millenium.

I agree that they are difficult to find. I've only found one other for sale on line. Incidentally it's up for £3500, although it does come on a TT bracelet.

CWS first appeared in 2000, but don't think that the LE was available at launch. Try looking for a date code between the 6 o'clock lugs - it may well have one.

I wish Breitling would produce watches like this again. Just a gorgeous piece.

:yeahthat

Does the CWS have an hour totalizer, or some other way to track hours on the chronograph?

No, it's just a minute chronograph with a 30 minute register : no hour register.

If you have the funds, I would grab it fast! If it was a white dial, I'd be fighting you for it

Highly desirable piece which can easily be sold on if you tire of it. I would never buy a watch as an investment but you won't lose money at this price.

Here you go Roff. It says 5003 B3. Does that help?

Thanks Mr Shark. That's good to know.

If Andrew Michaels ever get a white dialled CS LE I'll let you know.
