I purchased a Breitling for Bently 6.75 yesterday, for $9,250 from a dealer here in California. I know with a brick and mortar place there is some markup, but after looking into it, it seems I could have gotten it for much cheaper. Breitling pros, how badly did I get burned?

I don't think you want to know. I would say take the watch back ,and contact FEAR on here. I am sure he could beat that by a mile. Just guessing 7500 is what it could be had for. Most folks can get 20% off pretty easily

Ya that's what I figured after doing some research. I was afraid to purchase online, because of the possibility of getting a fake. Oh well, it's a beautiful watch. I plan on purchasing another one for my little brother, so I'll have to contact FEAR to see what's up.

from a non ad it sales on the bracelet for right under $7,400 and my ad is usally a hundred more than the non ads. i would definetly take it back and contacted fear or j.nelson here and they can get you the watch you want at a better price. Steve

You paid full retail for it?? Return it if they will allow, but that may not be easy.

Ya I'm an idiot, it was my first "real" watch purchase and I wanted to make sure I didn't get a fake. I should have done more research before I purchased.

Absolutely, I mean I fell in love with the watch, so I'm not too worried about the price. I do plan on getting another Breitling probably a 6.75 with a white face for my little brother. So this information will be useful for when I make that purchase. Thanks guys.

I did pretty much the same thing when I bought my first real watch - an Avenger Skyland. Then I spent some time lurking here. Fortunately the AD's receipt allowed for a full refund within 14 days and exchange for full price paid up to 30 days. It was really intended for jewelry returns and the AD balked at first, but I pointed out the return language was clear and did not exempt watches. So I bought a CSO at 20% off and put the rest to a store credit. That credit didn't last long.

If you can't get AT LEAST 20%, don't bother with the local AD - go with the ADs available here.

Even if they dont allow a return, you might be be to haggle a partial refund from them. Let them know that you now know that they gave you the shaft, and that if they expect any more business from you in the future, you expect them to make good on this deal.

if you paid with amex, just bring it back, they will give you the money back if the store wont, just mention amex to the store, and they will refund it.

good luck

and welcome to the forum, it wont be your last for sure!

Where are you in Cali? I'm in Santa Monica and can hook you up with my AD who will give you 25% off with my intro.

I have an AD in South OC that can do you better if you are in the area. PM me if you want the information and the introduction. Otherwise enjoy the beautiful watch.

If you get it out of State (FEAR, j.nelson), there usually aren't any taxes.

Ya, it seems that way. I'm considering calling the AD and asking for a partial refund for getting blasted. What would be a fair price to negotiate?
