Just curious of what the AD mark-up (list price) of Breitling watches is. I know there must be variables, but wondering what the average price an AD gets them for. Maybe.....30,40 or 50% under retail? Because the AD I got my first Breitling (an SA) from had no problem chopping off 21% without much haggle, so I figured he must of made something on it.....no?
A PM would be fine in noone wants to discuss this on an open forum.

TIA

In the US the AD pays around 60% of list. However, remember that the mark up has to cover all of the AD's overheads - rent, utilities, taxes, salaries, corporate functions, commission, etc, etc, etc on top of the discount.

I don't know when you purchased your SA, but dealer cost went up last year if I remember correctly as well.

It was around mid-march, the AD had mentioned about the price increase.
After I posted I found some fairly recent threads on this subject, so sorry to re-hash old news and thanks for the replies. :D

in 2010, instead of a retail price increase breitling decreased the discout they give the dealers, in 2011, they raised the list prices.

Got it.
So what do you think the US AD mark-up is, still 40%?

TIA

It hasn't changed in 2011 - when list price increases delaer cost increases in order to remain the same %. Dealer % increased (i.e. discount reduced) in 2010 as FEAR said.

Ok, thanks.
Do the caribbean AD's get them for the same?
My first introduction to Breitlings was on a cruise this past Feb and the AD's on the Islands didn't even want to talk, so I waited till I got home and was happy with what the local AD/Jeweler sold it to me for. Besides liking the fact of giving a local (not chain store) Jeweler my buisness, I felt safe with the purchase.

Caribbean has different distributors so potentially different pricing. You can generally do just as well, if not better in the US than in the Caribbean.
