Suppose you could only get the Bentley Mark VI with moon phase with brown dial, but the price was right?

I'm sorry, Sharkman, I don't understand your reply. I mean if only a brown dial was available but the price and other things were right, would the color of the dial put you off?

I knew what you meant. I was just supposing ;)

it depends on your personal taste. Also if it was to be your main watch, it might be a little limiting, especially for such an expensive piece. There are still white dials around too. But if you are good with brown, then it is the watch, no?

Gotcha. You may very well be right. Thanks for the reply. I should be more patient in looking around, as you say, for such an expensive piece. Thanks. I think we sometimes tend to get excited about what we see in front of us.

I have a feeling youre buying it from authenticwatches for $7,495....they sell the brown dial dirt cheap because its not a big mover although i like it.

Ya, I'm pretty sure my history demonstrates I fall into that category!

Alas, Sharkman, what can we do? Sometimes our bodies rule our minds and one side of the brain rules another. Do you or any of you others know anything about Ashford Watch? I guess you can guess who I'm thinking of buying from.

Also, is a Breitling "bronze" dial the same as a Breitling "brown" dial?

I have always wanted a moon phase watch, even to the point where I bought a Swiss Army Victorinex watch with moon face. That was a terrible watch, impossible to set for one thing and inaccurate. So I've waited many years for one I could afford.

I really enjoy this site. If I could only learn to manage colors and things like bold tyre and underlining.

And avoiding posting the same question in multiple places......

I've deleted the post that was an exact duplicate of the thread that you created asking almost the same question as in this thread, but am leaving this one as it has more responses and you added the colour element.

My answer on the Mark VI Complications 19 hasn't changed since you asked last time.

Setting it is very easy because it's done through push buttons, and because it's semi-perpetual the date only needs adjusting once every four years, not 5 times a year. Breitling call their brown dials bronze or havana and while they are more limited in what you can wear them with, I personally like them.

No experience of Ashford, although they obviously aren't authorised so no warranty and I honestly don't think that the price is much better than you could get through an AD for that piece now - the watch is a bad seller and that is the least popular colour. AD would be selling at a loss, but these things aren't walking out of the door.

Thank you, Roff. I guess I got over enthusiastic. Thanks for correcting me and for the information.
