Post subject:  Refurbs from Breitling

Hi - I've got a chance to buy a 100% genuine Chrono Matic Special Edition from 2004 for pretty good money, but the case needs a bit of a refurbish. (it only has light scratching from normal wear, but I'd love to get it back to mint condition) Has anyone had a watch refurbished by Breitling and if so, do they get it back to "as new" condition? And how expensive is it?

Also, while it's got it's original warrantee card, it's missing the manual and chronometer certificate. Does anyone know if Breitling will replace these once they have had time to authenticate it as part of the service/refurbishment? Cheers guys.

I've been told that Breitling can replace missing certificates at a fee, but do not have first hand info on that one. Sending Breitlings to BUSA at least does take a increidbly long time to get back so I'm not sure if that's something you want to do right after buying a watch.. you probably won't see it for many months.. not sure about the European Breitling however.. BUSA is slow though. If you're just fixing scratches your Local AD will probably do it for you without sending to Breitling.

Thanks for that Breitlingsource. For servicing by BEurope I've been quoted around 3 weeks by my AD, so I guess a refurb may take a bit longer. We shall see...... assuming I get the courage to buy this one!
