How long is too long to wait for Brietling to fulfill an order for a new watch? I ordered/paid for a Seawolf at the end of Feb, was told to probably expect a wait of about a month. I understand the dial I like is not readily available, and I wanted the deployment clasp to be brushed to match the piece. Whatever, I get it.

We are now at the 6.5 week point, and I'm over it. The AD has been both gracious & very responsive, but there's not a whole lot they can do. When you wait a long time for something you want, you tend to care a little bit less each day. My mind is starting to wander regarding other ways to spend the money. Lots of good ideas come to mind.

So I guess my question....... is this wait a little long but relatively normal, or is it beyond what people here have had to deal with?

Signed: Waiting in OC

I think there was someone on here that waited something like 3 months for a Nav 01.

I waited 8 weeks for the Superocean II ,and got frisky and ended up with a Sa. I am so glad I didn't buy the So II, I would of regretted it. Don't even bother calling Breitling USA, they are worthless ,and cant tell you anything.

The black batons dial is not rare. It shouldn't take but a couple weeks, despite my attempt at humor above. And it is the best dial option IMO!

Wouldn't be surprised if there are delays if the watch has come from Switzerland because the focus would have been on Basel. Longest wait that I have had is almost 4 months for a custom production piece.

I waited 2.5 months to get mine in blue. It came when they said it would though.
All in all worth the wait

I know what you mean. I'm in a similar situation. I sent in a Breitling for repair. It took about 5-6 weeks. It wasn't repaired properly when I got it back. Now it's back at bias foe 2 more weeks. At this point I'm starting to forget about the watch. :|

Dude, thats nothing

I placed my order and payed the deposit at the start of November of 2010 and got my watch at the end of February 2011. At the same time when I picked up my new watch I sent my SO for an overhaul and I still don't have it back on my wrist...that's why I am in the market for another Breitling, can't deal with having only one lol

If it's something you really want, trust me when you finally get it, the wait will have been well worth it

Here is what I can tell you. It's going to be at LEAST 6 more weeks. Breitling knows what's coming 6 weeks out. Thy find out when it's allocated from the Swiss. And that hasn't happened on the Seawolf. I have multiple sold orders. I have a chrono if you want but no regular. They have been on backorder for a looping time. Production and stuff is all focused on new watches. Wont be soon is my educated guess.

Is this usual or is this year different due to the sheer number of new watches introduced.

This is no good, I have the patience of a 3 year old as it is!

Hey I get it, earthquakes, tsunamis, Obama.........the world has bigger problems than speculating when my luxury watch will arrive. Forgive the self important tone here.....

Because of Fear's post, and for the entertainment of all of those on the thread, I have officially added a question mark in my signature. To be continued......I think?

PAH! Rubbish. :nana: :nana:

I ordered the newly released Skyracer Silver Dial as soon as I saw it in the Runway catalog a few years ago. So, I ordered it there and then, never having seen one in the flesh.

9 months later it finally arrived..... :superman:

By that time I'd gotten bored looking at the pictures and I was, like you commented, "Over it." By the time it arrived. Never grew to love it and sold it about 6 months later.....The guy who bought it from me had it stolen from his gym locker about 6 weeks after that....

RIP Little Skyracer.

I agree that seriously long waiting times can considerably reduce the enjoyment of a watch when it FINALLY arrives. I've heard countless people say the same thing about the Daytona - literally YEARS of waiting and then when it arrives they wonder what all the fuss was about.

I'm sure the year long wait I had for a Sub LV (back when Rolex were claiming they were limited and exclusive  ) had quite a bit to do with me shifting it on in under a year. (That and the often discussed rubbish bracelet and clasp).
