Can anyone tell me why, in the UK at least, watches in Breitling adverts almost always have the date set at the 25th? Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but I can't find it! Thanks |

Thats not an england specific thing. Its an optical feature: A date is either set to 12 or 25 (best readability for two digits) , the time is normally 10h10 (smiling watch) if You have a daydate, its always on sunday (positive day for most people). That is the way, the wach industry has learned to photograp their watches. BG Thomas |

Thanks Thomas - I was aware of the smiling hands setting but not the readability issue. |

I did not know about the Sunday and 12/25 thing, though I did notice it looking at photos of watches. Interesting. Perhaps I should do that when posting photos for sale lol |

That is interesting indeed, but if 12 and 25 are the most readable, why not to think of other combinations using the same digits... i.e. 15 for example. Brother in Name ![]() |

Brother in Name ![]() Maybe its not only for readability, bu also that the 25th rings a bell for most of the world as it subconsciously reminds us of christmas? |
