Hi guys! Long time no new post!

Ok So...

I now work in a AD, and yes its a Breitling AD :lingsrock: . So i now have the fisilities to clean watches etc, so i thought i would give my Skyland a go! came up beautifully! i gave it a good buff then put it in the ultrasonic water cleaner for a few mins, took it out, gave it a good clean and then realised that it has stopped working... luckily since im now in the trade i can process the warrantee work myself but still... 6-8 weeks... DAMN IT!

Has anyone’s watch stopped after dipping it in water?!?!?!?!?!

I don't think it's the water that's a problem - it's the ultrasonic cleaner.

Assembled watches and ultrasonic cleaners are never good mix!!!

Because you are subjecting a lot of fragile components carefully assembled with very tight tolerances to tens of thousands of vibrations - at the very least the oils are being shaken from where they are needed.

Even when disassembled ultrasonic cleaning is considered too violent for delicate parts like the hairspring, it's certainly not a good idea for an assembled piece.

No but they might have a problem with a bonehead working at one of their AD's! :poke:

I'm sure they'll be able to fix it.

Am I reading this wrong (just had a Power Nap) you put a fully assembled watch in a ultrasound bath?

Just awaiting confirmation before adding other words...........

Most of the words have.... no, there are a couple that have five letters.

Please let me know where the AD you 'work' for is.

This made me laugh! and cry...

People act hurt when you tell them you want thing a certain way or ask them how they do it: "It's my job, I know what I'm doing"

Sorry just checking...so how are you going to do it?

Take nothing for granted.
