I am an 18 year old boy now looking to buy my first watch which i have decided should be a Breitling. I am traveling to NYC in twenty days and planning to make my purchase there. As i am from europe i am not familiar with the prices in the US and therefore i would be grateful if some of you Breitling specialists in here could help giving me some prices as well as recommending which model i should buy.

The watches i have thought of myself is the "SuperOcean Steelfish" or some of the models in the "Navitimer family". However my budget is 3000 dollars and i don't know if it will be possible to get any of the above mentioned watches for that amount of money.

Besides needing help finding the right model i would also be pleased if anyone could recommend where to buy the watch in NYC and what i should pay for the watch i choose (hereby i am thinking of how much discount i should go for when buying the watch). The dealer has to be an AD.

I hope some of you in here will spend a moment to help me, so I will be able to make a great deal the first time i buy a watch.

Soeren

The pricing here isn't updated yet with the new 2011 pricing, but if you look at PrestigeTime.com they list the current retail and are generally fairly accurate (but they aren't an AD).

Can't help you with a New York AD, although Govbergs who are a site sponsor aren't a million miles away (Philadelphia). Of course ADs can also ship to a hotel for you which opens up both Govbergs (PM jnelson3097) and Provident (PM FEAR), both of whom are sponsors of the site and ADs.

For $3,000 the Steelfish will definitely be attainable as long as you can find an AD with stock, the Navitimers may be a bit more of a stretch.

The only advice I can give to you it to NOT GO to tourneau. They will charge you list price and will NOT budge on price or offer a discount.

If for any reason you wanna buy the watch on your side of the pond try Andre Micheals as the service is second to none.

Hey guys thank you for the comments. Actually i have given it a thought and i am willing to stretch my budget so i will be able to get a watch from the Navitimer family or a Bentley GT model.

But what would be a reasonable price for these models ?

By saying the Navitimer familiy i am thinking of the original Navitimer or the Montbrillant model. All the watches i am talking about should come with a strap either croco or calf.

Thanks

Soeren.

The Breitling NYC boutique is must for a visit, less so for a buy though.
