Ok Im confused... Ive been reading about the new superocean models and mostly
disliking of the rubber bezel. I never really paid attention to it before. What part is rubber exactly? It looks metal w black outlined paint.

The black part is rubber.

Has anyone posted a poll about whether or not people like the rubber bezel? I'm not a fan myself, but would love to know what the rest of the community thinks. I'd also love to know why Breitling went down this path...

I don't mind them. I would like to see the 60 minute marker replaced with a triangle indicator/lume dot of some sort. They wouldn't keep me from buying a piece if I really liked the rest of the dial design, etc.

Maybe it's an intermediate step for Breitling before they come out with a ceramic bezel down the road :D .

I like the rubber bezel. Ive got one and its actually pretty nice. What I dont like is that every model seems to have one now, so its gone from interesting to epidemic.

The rubber bezel does not bother me at all, in person it looks great not at all like the pic of the new superocean chrono in the other post. i think it will hold up great over time and as far as getting scratched, it should hold up better than a painted bezzel. only time will tell. would i like to see a ceramic bezzel on it, hell yeah i would! But it doesnt, it is what it is. Steve

I have the SuperOcean Abyss in red and love it. Actually, I have two (don't ask, my partner bought one for me as a surprise without knowing I had one already a few days before). I also have two different straps to change and the rubber bezel looks great with the chrome or rubber strap. I need to post the other watch in the sell / trade section I guess. I don't need to own two :).

I did not mind the rubber bezel at all when it was seemingly a very limited offering on a couple models. But now it seems clear it will (already has actually) become on of two "Flagship" Breitling bezels, bumping the rider tab bezel in the process. That I don't like.
